About the game

A little word game.
A very deep dungeon.

Underwordle is an independent browser game made in Finland. It combines word deduction with a pixel-art dungeon: each guess is a decision about finding the word and surviving the next enemy move.

A word puzzle with consequences

New green letters activate the symbols above their squares. Swords attack, hearts heal, and rare multipliers strengthen a later effect. Solving a word stops an enemy action, but it does not automatically end the fight. Gold, supplies and relics give you other ways to survive.

The daily format gives each descent a limit: one attempt per day across languages. You can take your time with an unfinished run and return to it later. The player's guide explains the clues, combat and daily rules.

Play in your language

The game is available in ten languages. Each uses its own word lists and spelling rules. Choose before your first move; changing language does not give another daily attempt.

Word-list contributors and licences are listed in the credits. Underwordle is not affiliated with or endorsed by The New York Times or Wordle.

Your game, your pace

Play for free without an account. Guest progress stays in your browser; an optional account supports saved progress across signed-in devices. Sound is optional, keyboard controls are supported, and reduced-motion settings are available.

Anonymous game statistics are off until you choose to share them. The privacy notice explains storage, account data and your choices.
